For this assignment, our goal was to take a poorly composed advertisement and make it look more professional. The left image is the original, and the right image is the revised version. As you can see, there was a slight redesign in the logo, taking the slogan out and placing it under. There was also uses of hierarchy to show the importance of certain texts. There's much more spacing between the list, and the bullets have been replaced by arrows. Overall, this project in illustrator was different, as we had to base our new work off old work, while still keeping certain components.

This project in illustrator is mainly focused on what you want to represent you. My logo consist of my initials, EA and they are overlapping. It's simple, straight to the point, and recognizable. One problem that I encountered with this project is fitting all the material into the safe zone. This was easily fixed however by resizing the font or resizing the logo. The safe zone is important because if information is out the safe zone, you risk it being cutoff on the final product. This project helped me enter the professional realm, as business cards are an essential factor of getting yourself known.

This project in particular was one of the most challenging to do on Illustrator. This project, for me, revolved around typing on a path, which in itself is very challenging. The words don't line up exactly where you want them to be, and some words of your sentence get cut off. The project first started with tracing, which was simple enough. But then was the process of putting the type on a path on a faceless face. The original picture contained all the facial features, so in my case, i had to enter Photoshop and remove all the features of the face. I used things like the clone stamp tool and healing brush to do so. After that, it was simply putting the type on a path on the faceless face. The message I'm trying to spread is equality for black African American women.

This project goes over the basics of Adobe Illustrator. It mainly focuses on the pen tool. When we go over the basics, we cover straight lines and curved lines with the pen tool. Although, this was not made by simply going off instinct. We had to place an image of the apple logo, make another layer, then trace the apple. It was not simply tracing the lines. The way to make curves was by holding the pen tool down and dragging to where we want the curve to be. It was a difficult process, but I overcame it by changing anchor points or adding more lines to try and get it as accurate as possible. This project was a great introduction to Adobe Illustrator.
